  1. I am looking for a way to enable this in Android as well. I am not able to find a way as it is already enabled in iPhone 🙁 Any ideas ?

  2. ICICI i-safe application (iPhone/Android..etc) helps you from this annoying mobile OTP. You can use this application to generate the OTP at your own will. If you enable this the mobile OTP will be stopped, but will continue if you deactivate ICICI i-safe. You can set this up from i-safe link on your internet banking page, just beneath logout on the right hand side. Cheers.

  3. The system is actually quite smart and works perfectly in the rest of the world… Probably is your TelCo the culprit!

    1. Its not about system or telco…its about me and other thousands like me who dont have international roaming when I travel abroad.

  4. This is really stupid to say the least. Specially for a person like me whose job involves lot of travel. Everytime I have to make a payment or any transfers this stupid thing comes up. This becomes worse when I am travelling abroad and my mobile number doesnt work. I want to know if there isany RBI guideline  behind this?

  5. It’s a good feature for our own safety in this hacking world. Even now a days there isn’t much delay in getting the OTP to our mobile. It just happens in matter of seconds. I’m loving it.

    1.  @nareshreddykola None of the banks anywhere else have such insane mechanisms. I have a accounts in other countries which are much more secure

  6. God!! I am facing the same problem!! hell!! things become very complicated,, how pathetic that I my self not able to use my own bank account only due this foolish OTP Idea….

  7. I just hate ICICI bank and this feature forcing me to think just close the account.. They are hacking my account by not allowing me to access it.. i am in USA and i do not have the Inidian cell no and they can’t generate the OTP for me as i tried calling there customer care several time and they are saying system can’t generate the OTP and there is no way to access my account online. and asking me to mail the document to one of there location in India.

ICICIC its hacker itself.. using customer money by not allowing to access its account. I suggest all of you just get rid of such a bank there are lot of good banks and i never face any issue with them.

Close your ICICI account as soon as possible…

  8. Friends, If its creating a big trouble for you as it is for me, why not we all close our bank accounts – and do it on a same week/month to make a statement? Of course petition or any noise will never be heard by those brainless officials who are making these stupid protocols.

  9. This feature sucks big time
In theory it sounds good; but the idiots at ICICI are not able to recognize that I am accessing the site from the same machine in the same network….just two days after they issued an OTP.
(i.e. no change in my IP address or any other network characteristics)

Very very pissed off….especially travelling abroad…

  10. You bet! this is one of the most horrible service. The next level of authentication, they will implement is for customers to provide their ur*ne sample and blood sample to the nearest ICICI bank branch to ensure your identity.

For overseas customers though, they will have to courier those samples to the Hyderabad or Mumbai branch..

A bunch of insane juvenile jokers are sitting in the customer care team!

  11. icici bank very worst system and stupid OTP password. the one who is having mobile always with his hand only can able to login ..this is very very worst .

  12. These stupids have implemented the most weird security systems.
What the hell man!!! I am not able to access my own bank account
Now I need to either convert my account to NRI, for which these fools would have lot of complicated processes.
I am in the US now and brought my mobile with me. No international roaming facility
Now I got f..ed up due to these stupid security measures
Already there is login, transaction, grid security. WHy the hell do they need one more level
Screw these guys who invented this idiotic feature

  13. This is really frustrating. If someone is abroad for a short duration how are they supposed to login? Its impossible and the only option is to open NRI account for a month.

  15. It worked for me. After reading Triogang’s comment, I tried to login to the site. OTP not received as I am abroad. After two or three attempts, I shut down the laptop and few hours later I tried again. Surpringly, I could log in successfully without OTP. Since then I am able to log in.  I dont know whether I can log into, from another IP

    1. This is actually RBI guidelines to implement OTP for all banks, both over online as well as over telephone. Unfortunately they are not set up well in india.
I live in swiss and In swiss, all banks have this implemented and as a guideline as well, this works in a very hassle free way as they provide the secure token when you open account and the passcode in swcure token changes every 1.5 mins or so and this can be used as otp. (similar to the secure token we get wirh VPN login sometimes). Now they have removed secure token and replaced this to mobile sms and this is working well as well.
Indian banks should have come up with secure token initially and then migrated to sms. But cost is too high to implement secure tokens.

  17. It is really a stupid one, They are not sending it, to the email registered with them. I have forgotten to handover my mobile to my son, when I was travelling to USA. I am facing lot of hardship. Already three tier system is in force-Accessing password, Transaction Password, Debit/Credit card secret numbers. Why OTP?. Hell with ICICI
